Happening at The Empress on April 18th.

Daniel Gordon is making some amazing music. You can download the album from his myspace. I played a show on the weekend with him, Apricot Island and Penguins.

Seems like the brothers are doing the band thing atm. These are some better recordings of two songs off An When and then a 3rd song. Totally ruling.

SPILL COLLECTIVE & ALBERTS BASEMENT BRING YOU THIS MIDSUMMA QUEER FEST BAYBEE – READ ON FOR A DESCRIPTION !
****************************************************************
Two of Melbourne’s most beloved arts collective, Alberts Basement and Spill Collective bring you the one-day music festival ‘Everyday People’ showcasing subversive Melbourne superstars of alternative/experimental music, visual and performance art. With tongue firmly in cheek, ‘Everyday People’ spear-tackles complex themes of identity in today’s transcultural age, spotlighting musicians, performers and artists who have established themselves outside of their stereotypical communities.
Headlining the day will be an explosive line up of Melbourne musicians and sound artists who have broken the shackles of modern identity tags presenting a diverse collection of sexual, gender and political hues including Guy Blackman, Rat vs Possum, Keith! Party, Always, Flying Scribble, Space Cactus, Owl + Moth, Scout! Scout!, Isle Adore, He Said, She Said, loveletting and the weeping hearts, fuckyouastrology and Courtney Barnett with more to be announced. Furthermore, to help mash up the day, the everyday peeps from local and international queer dance parties will be spinning their sparklin’ tunes to keep your brains flippin’ and feet sctatichin’.
Doors open at 2pm with the space being hijacked by performance artists, photographers, painters, installation artists, animators, media artists and filmmakers creating a diasporic wonderland to confuse, stimulate and spark debate on the concept of queer identity in today’s transcultural day and age.
Expect diasporic crossovers, mutant encounters and a whole lotta love.
Remember, we are all the everyday people.
